The Haitian Club at Boston International NewComers Academy (BINCA) is a united, fun, and supportive community where respect, shared learning, and laughter is never absent. We not only uplift and honor the dynamic Haitian and Haitian-American culture, but also collaborate with other cultural clubs at BINCA for school wide events such as the annual Bridging Borders Celebration. Our largest celebration is Haitian Flag Day, where our native country’s art, dances, music, and food is showcased with elaborate energy and flair.
BINcA students can take after school arts classes (studio art, dance, theater, music, photography, filmmaking, DJ, spoken word...) in studios around Boston. When you complete enough hours, you earn graduation credit.
The 826 Boston Writers’ Room is a classroom at BINcA where students can write, read, meet with tutors, and come together for student-led writing projects and clubs. Follow our Instagram for news about Writers’ Room activities, or visit us in Room 015 (by the cafeteria) to say hello and learn more
BINcA gives students an opportunity to learn about the medical fields through a 2 year Medical Assisting CTE pathway in 11th and 12th grade. In this program students are given opportunities to gain extensive background knowledge and hands-on experiences in the classroom and through partnerships with organizations such as Harvard MedScience (https://hmsmedscience.org/). Students who participate in this program receive OSHA CareerSafe Certificate, CPR and First Aid certifications and will be able to use the knowledge gained when furthering their education in a vast number of medical certificates, associates and bachelor's degree programs post high-school.
